Production Loss Analysis (PLA), as part of Enterprise Loss Prevention, provides an overall foundation for understanding your true production capacity over time and the associated risks that, if left unmitigated, lead to production losses. In today’s competitive environment, knowing your potential for loss means making faster, better decisions for your bottom line with the full interests of your organization in mind.
With the Operational Sustainability® (OS) OESuite® PLA Module, organizations can compare planned production to actual production and uncover the root causes (e.g., availability, performance, quality, etc.) of any losses. Production data can be collected from Operator Rounds, Operator Logs, or other data historians. Recommendations are generated based on identified root causes and tracked to completion within OESuite® to optimize and grow your production capacity through comprehensive risk management and mitigation.
Tracking and analyzing losses using conventional methods can be difficult, especially when those losses are caused by minor interruptions. Within OESuite® users can perform a Pareto analysis and calculate their Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to measure their production performance against their proven production capacity or planned production.
The gap in the 100% production capacity level is categorized into loss categories and analyzed within the PLA Module, then prioritized into improvement efforts. As losses occur, OESuite® aggregates them into a Bad Actors list to get an understanding of the root causes and financial impacts. The PLA Module can also associate single day losses to one or more unwanted events with recommendations to address the root causes.
As losses occur, the aggregate impact to production is summarized along with the OEE codes in OESuite®.
The OESuite® platform enables users to calculate the cost of downtime (e.g., repair costs, production costs, and delays) to get back up and running as quickly as possible. As you optimize processes and improve production yield, OESuite® recalculates your key variables to ensure continued optimal performance.
