OESuite® PSI Framework

Process Safety Information (PSI) is perhaps one of the most complex work processes to automate due to the sheer amount of interoperability required to establish proper PSI governance. The Operational Sustainability® (OS) OESuite® PSI Framework provides a comprehensive set of modules for your engineering and technical information management.

PSI is composed of several OESuite core modules including:
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS / [M]SDS)
  • Inventory Management: for maximum intended inventory
  • Incident Management
  • Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA)
  • Management of Change (MOC)
  • Engineered safeguards: relief and flare design
  • Document Management: documents, redlines, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical classification drawings, material and energy balances, safety systems, design codes, and standards
  • Procedure Management: operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and permits (see Example 2)
  • Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs): safe upper / lower limits and consequences of deviation
  • The key to PSI is that it is process related and therefore should be shown on a P&ID whenever possible, with written notes if necessary. This simplifies the process for both the end users and those who must revise and update information. For example, emergency shutdowns are typically indicated with ESD, and an asterisk with a note that says part of the emergency shutdown system, etc.
  • When using the Document Management Module, redlines can be done using a simple CAD interface

The OESuite® PSI Framework dynamically and effectively manages all aspects of PSI through an integrated set of modules and features.

The OESuite® PSI Framework combines a mix of traditional PSI as required by OSHA 1910.119 and an advanced PSI set modeled by OS. Together, this new and improved PSI gives you a clearer picture of your risk. To further enhance this experience, users can view their PSI in our visualization environment using drag and drop technology.

Traditional PSI management takes a “scanned image and file system” approach. With the OESuite® PSI Framework, clients can evolve to varying levels of sophistication in managing their content where all of the PSI can be easily accessed and viewed from any smart device. Any PSI associated with a piece of equipment can be viewed by simply clicking on that equipment on the digital PFD or P&ID. This intuitive method puts critical information for operations into the hands of the people who need it most, as well as making it easily accessible to management. Compliance auditing is a snap as properties, materials, SDSs, policies, and procedures can be searched quickly and easily via computer rather than hunting through file drawers.

Furthermore, auditors can sort and search by several other methods including who read the PSI, policies and procedures (attestations), chemical approvers, names of policy reviewers, and approval dates. Back-end workflow allows for routing and approval so that required inputs can be sought by required reviewers. Reviewers and approvers receive notifications and reports of policies awaiting review. The level of security is fully customizable by the client and not governed by a predetermined hierarchy. OESuite® is integrated with leading content management systems including Microsoft SharePoint™ and OpenText™ Documentum™. All of this can be driven through our intuitive PSI portal. (See Example 3).

Software Screen Examples

Example 1 – Document Management

Create documents, make changes and track revisions, create a file structure and upload multiple files at the same time, use workflows for routing and approval, redline your drawings, and auto archive your files to ensure nothing is lost.

Software Screen Examples

Example 2 – Procedural Automation

Leverage a library of templates, create custom procedures, relate procedures to equipment, trigger MOCs, make revisions, and execute procedures in the field on a mobile device.

Example 3 – Noding and Redlining

Build out your equipment taxonomy and visualize metadata. Manage documents, redline drawings, and node your PHA studies all in one integrated engineering content management solution.

Software Screen Examples

Example 4 – Management of Change Records

Track not-in-kind changes, manage temporary, permanent, and emergency changes, enable a risk assessment, conduct a Pre-Startup Safety Review using your checklists, and close out post commissioning items.

Software Screen Examples

Example 5 – SDS

Author and manage outgoing Safety Data Sheets (SDS), manage material information and develop work processes for chemical approvals, track compliance requirements and integrate with your chemical inventory.

Software Screen Examples

Example 6 – PRD Management Software

Quickly screen your Pressure Relief Devices (PRD), capture design information and key operating parameters, track maintenance and testing history, access PSI, and quickly evaluate changes that may impact an existing PRD.
